Mustache

My kids are spoiled by their Aunt Kristi. Her latest surprise in the mail was some Halloween treats with these mustaches. My kids thought they were so cool. That was until Vivian's was really starting to tickle her and she insisted I take it off immediately. But before that, they loved them.

Cousin's Halloween Party

We had a little sneak peek into Halloween with a cousin's Halloween party on Friday.

David was thrilled to be able to wear his costume. "A pumpkin with trains." This boy is one of a kind.

And then there was"Princess Dorothy"

And Princess Belle

We dined on nuggets and apple slices followed by some art projects where the kids made skeleton masks and pumpkins. Then they played outside-it was a lovely fall day. (Lucy's friend from school, Elizabeth and her younger sister, Katelyn, joined us for the party).

David modeling his mask

Vivian very diligently coloring her mask.

Princess Jane as Cindarella

Aunt Jayna brought this darling ghost bowling game which the kids thought was awesome.

And I think this is the cutest skeleton I have ever seen . . .  (Sweet Will)

Boo!

Garbage Gallery

David's first unit in preschool was on garbage.

They learned about garbage, recycling, how to make things out of garbage and even took a field trip to the recycling center.

The unit ended with a garbage gallery where the parents could come take a tour of all the things they had learned. David loved it!

Constant love notes

One of the many things I love about having Lucy as a daughter is the constant flow of love notes she is always making. They brighten my day so much and reflect how much she thinks of others. I also love to see her grow as an artist and in her writing skills (notice the spacing between the words and fancy Y on her name?-Those are her latest achievements). Such a sweet lady.

Pumpkin Patch

We went to a lovely Pumpkin Patch (two in fact) this year. But I decided to leave my camera at home and just enjoy being with my children. We went with our friends The Davis' in the morning and it was wonderful. The kids enjoyed a hay ride around, they got to pet a lamb, pig, goat, calf and llama! I think they enjoyed the hay maze and corn pit the most though. It was so fun. The second one we went to when Marc could come, but it was raining really hard so we opted to stay in the barn and eat some yummy donuts and then picked out the best pumpkin we could find to carve.
Then we headed to Family Tree in Santaquin for their amazing scones and beef stew. Yum!

The next day the kids decorated their pumpkins with stickers and markers. (I personally like David's the most).

This little artist was so pleased with her creation.

And just because he's cute.

Primary Program

Last Sunday was our Primary Program. The kids were very excited.

We had yet to get David to even go up to the stand to sing with The Primary Kids for Mother's Day or Father's Day, so I wasn't sure how this was going to go. I went to the practice the day before and helped him adjust to this idea of sitting on the stand. I was planning to go up and sit with him on Sunday as well, but when the time came for them to do the program I was in the bathroom with Vivian. I was so worried and when I got back in there, he was happily sitting on the stand by his teacher! Marc said he just went right up! He did great, sang all the songs and happily said his part, "I feel Heavenly Father's love for me when I sit on the green grass." They then had The Sunbeam Class sing, "Jesus wants me for a sunbeam." When they practiced this, they let David hold the microphone, but took it away for the actual program. David was so excited about the idea of singing "his song" into the mich and was so disappointed when they didn't let him sing into it. So as all of his peers happily sung, David said over and over again, "Hey, I want to sing my song." as he looked for anyone who may take pity on him. Marc and I just sat there and laughed. He recovered from this setback well and went back to sit with his class and finish the program strong.

Lucy was wonderful. She sang all of her songs, sat reverently with her class and said her part perfectly, "I know Heavenly Father loves me because He gave me a loving family and a comfortable home. He also gave me a puppy."

Her lovely hair.

And this little miss was pretty disappointed they would not let her be a part of the program. She so wants to do everything her siblings do!

Saturday morning chores

Rainbow

The kids were ecstatic to find this beautiful rainbow outside our back patio one morning before school.

I love seeing the joys of the world through the eyes of my children.
