This is so my little lady . . .

Dance clothes still on, crooked ponytail, her favorite light pink bow in her hair, and reading a book. I love her!

Dear David,

I still remember when you looked like this. You were the sweetest baby boy and I treasured every season of time I had with you as an infant. I loved our late nights together when I would get up to nurse you. I often stayed awake just a bit longer so I could hold you in a state of rest and complete contentment. I laughed at how much you constantly had to move and figure things out. I can remember being exhausted and you would just take a little nap. We came home from vacation once and you just laid right down in your bed and took a rest while we got things taken care of. It was as if you knew, and you were so willing to help out in any way that you could. You were a joy.

Now you are turning into my little man and I LOVE being able to raise a son that is so active and full of life. That is so rough and at the same time so sensitive too. I still sneak into your room at night to watch you sleep so contently. You bring me a joy in a way no one else can. I constantly find myself watching you and thinking, "He is so cute!"

And in less than two months we will have a new baby in our home. I hope you will feel a peace and comfort that you will still be my sweet baby boy. I don't know how to best help you understand this right now. I am not sure what you understand at your young age. I do know that Heavenly Father has blessed our family with another sweet little one. I know that you were chosen to be her big brother. And I know that somehow a mother has an ability to grow her heart a bit more with each new baby that comes to her family. I also know, the love I have for you will only be deeper as your new sister joins us.  I love you Handsome Jack!

More crafting

I've been making a lot of these fabric flowers and I've been putting them on hairclips, headbands and baby hats . . .

I even made a lovely necklace for my sister out of them. They are super easy to make. You can learn how to make them here. The best part, you do not have to sew one thing-just glue and fabric. I didn't even use the fabric glue, I just used hot glue and it worked great. Have fun!

Chillin' Out

Chatting with Dad on the phone.

This boy LOVES his Daddy. When he wakes up in the morning he calls for, "Daddy". If Marc is already at work and I come in instead, he says, "No, Daddy." If he wakes up in the night, he calls for Daddy. If he's hurt, he wants Daddy. Even in nursery he calls for Daddy and Marc doesn't even go to our ward (he serves in a BYU Ward). He's all smiles when Daddy comes home and he follows him all around the house. It breaks his heart if Marc even goes outside really quick without him. He "helps" him take out the garbage and they both love to wrestle every night. Daddy is his number one, and it completely warms my heart and makes me smile from ear to ear.

Our little boy is . . .

ALL BOY! The moment he wakes up, he wants his cars. He is rarely seen without a car in each hand. He loves to play in the dirt, eat hot dogs and when he's not playing with a car, he's most likely playing with a ball.  He stomps through the house and loves to shout things in a growly voice. Pretty much, he just keeps us laughing (and exhausted).

I guess it's no wonder with a boy like this that his favorite blanket would end up looking like this. I'm pretty sure he liked to bite it!?! He loves his "banket" and it was starting to be in shreds.

Fortunately for him, he has a very loving (and very patient) Grandma Kay who made him a new one. The moment he saw it, he smiled and said, "Banket!" Then he rubbed it across his lips several times. Oh the love of a "banket".  He cuddles up to it all the time. It is so sweet.

*Cute side story, Marc took the "banket" when we first got it and washed it. When I asked him why he was washing it already his reply was, "So it would smell right for him." Such a sweet Daddy.*

Music Class

We've started a Mom & Me Music Class that Lucy & David both participate in. They both really enjoy it. David participates about 1/3 of the time while Lucy just dances and sings her little heart out the whole 30 minutes. After our first class, Lucy came home and told Marc all about a "steady beat" and asked him if he could "hear the rhythm". It's been really fun.

Latest project

I made two car seat covers (I learned with David, you need a back-up). They turned out pretty cute, and I felt very domestic.
This one was more of the "back-up" one. Of course when Marc saw them, he liked this one the most. ;) Now we just need the little lady so we can use them.

How I imagined my days would be spent with my daughter . . .

And I'm loving every moment!

We've been sick . . .

After a week of me being sicker than I've been in a long time, we discovered that David had RSV. Luckily he's old enough that it wasn't too intense. He also had an ear infection so he was put on an antibiotic and we did breathing treatments every 4 hours at home. He seems to be on the mend. Lucy . . . just started with a yucky cough .  . . hmmm. Marc is on antibiotics and I still have the yucky cough too. I hope we all get 100% better very soon.
Being somewhat quarantined as I did not want to share our RSV with others, we came up with all kinds of creative things to do at home. The kids seemed to fair better with being home all day better than I did.
And I got to watch my belly get bigger and bigger by the day. I am officially in trimester 3! That pretty much sums up what we've been up to.
