Can't sleep . . .

Let me preface this by saying, the only reason I write this is because it cracks me up because it is totally not the way my dear, caring husband ever treats me. With that said, let me recall a conversation we had the other night at about 2am upon me getting back into bed:

Marc: "What's wrong?"
Me: "I can't sleep. I've actually been having a hard time sleeping for a few days now."
Marc: "Hmmm, why don't you scratch my back until you are so tired you just fall asleep."

How compassionate!

Best weekend yet . . .

We bought tickets 15 months ago to see Wicked (we actually bought them from a nurse we worked with when Vivian was born!) We were so excited when the day finally came that we decided to make a weekend excursion out of it. We started by going to the temple and then we headed to The Anniversary Inn. It was fabulous! Each room has a theme and ours' was the "Hayloft" that resembled a barn that had been made over to be a hotel room. It was complete with rose petals, Martinelli's on ice, chocolate covered strawberries, cheesecake, a jacuzzi . . .

We walked around downtown, saw the City Creek Mall (loved Tiffany's and H&M), had lunch at an incredible Italian place and then headed to Wicked with Butterflies in our stomach!

The show was phenomenal! Why did I wait so long to see it??? I laughed out loud through Popular and cried into my hands during, For Good. The play was a spiritual experience that allowed me to feel so deeply about so many different elements of my life. To say I loved it would be an understatement. At the end of the day, we came home to our sweet babies and I told Marc that this had been our best weekend yet! I love adventures and even more, I love doing them with my true love!

Poor Puppy

One day David decided to see what would happen if he dropped the puppy from the top of our porch (about a 5 feet drop). It resulted in a very hurt little puppy with 4 broken bones in his paw. It was so sad. Luckily he is a puppy, the break was clean and he should make a full recovery.

1st Day of Preschool

Lucy started her first "real" preschool this year (we did a neighborhood co-op last year that I loved, but it's David turn this year and I wanted her to do something a bit more structured). She will go T/TH from 9:30am-11:30am.

She said she needed a "silly" pose

Our little angel is growing up right before our eyes. When I walked her in: she hugged her teacher, hung up her backpack and went right over to play with a little girl with a doll house. She sat down beside her new friend and said, " Can I play with you?" Her friend said yes and then she said, "My name is Lucy." Darling.

Garden

I love growing a garden. Even more than that, I love that all of my babies have toddled out to the garden, picked a fresh tomato and then ate it. My simple life is so beautiful.

There is just something about water that makes my children so happy!

This day, we put on our suits, picked up a pizza and went off to play. It was wonderful!

Vivian could barely walk, but she still toddled all around.

How to get stickers, price tags etc. off of anything without any residue

I learned this trick years ago and it has never failed me! (BTW: we got this dresser for free and I just love a little project).

All you do is blow dry the sticker for about a minute or two (the heat melts the glue. . .)

And the sticker comes off flawlessly (if it doesn't come off well, blow dry more until it does)

Good as new! No need to scrape, use any goos etc.

Sweet Sisters

So thankful they have each other.

Lucy is so good to Vivian. I told her the other day that Vivian just loves her to pieces and that as Lucy continues to be so sweet to her and help her, she will always think Lucy is so wonderful. I know this, because this is how I feel for my older sister.

You are simply beautiful and you are growing into such a lovely little lady.

The other day I was watching your legs as you danced and it hit me that those were legs of a little girl, no longer a baby or toddler. And what a wonderful little girl you are.

You are my greatest helper and constant conversationalist. I am so grateful for you.

Your laugh gets us all giggling.

And your eyes and eyelashes melt my heart! I love you!

Vivian . . .

You make the cutest dang baby!

I often find myself looking at Vivian and thinking, "Yep, she's the baby to our family. And a dang cute one at that!"
