Lucy, You Are NOT The Biggest Loser!

Mom and Dad have this fun thing they do with me every Thursday where they take me in to have me weighed by the Doctor. Mom says most babies see their Doctor ever couple of months, but not me-I get to see him every week. He wants to make sure I am getting bigger because I really am Mom and Dads' LITTLE Lucy. This week I had my best weigh in yet-5 whole ounces! That brings me up to 8 pounds 15 ounces-I just wasn't ready to be a whole 9 pounds just yet. Mom and Dad said their hard work is paying off, but I don't think all those late night feedings have been hard; I'd call them delicious!

New Discoveries With Lucy . . .

Mommy really had fun doing my hair this morning. I got not one but TWO piggies!!!

My parents have recently introduced me to the most wonderful thing, they call it a mobile and I LOVE it! Sometimes I give Mom a good 15 minutes before I want to do something else.

Have you all heard bout these amazing things called hands? I have just found mine and boy are they fun.

A Season For Love . . .

Last night we made Valentines as a family. Mommy REALLY had fun while Daddy humored her and made a few. My favorites are the, "I Love Lucy" ones.

This is what my hair looks like right after Mommy combs it (it stays like this for about 15 minutes) . . .

This is what it usually looks like . . .

And this is how Dad likes to do it when I take my tubby . . .

BBQ In The Snow

My Dad is the best! My Mom said she felt like BBQ-ed chicken yesterday. So even though it was freezing outside with snow on the ground, Dad pulled out the grill and made Mom what she wanted. He always treats her like such a princess. I want to marry a man just like him when I grow-up!

SMILE!!!

Mom says she has not been able to capture just how cute my smile can be, but here are some pictures to give you an idea . . .

Happy Birthday Grandpa Sampson!

Grandpa Sampson, you are the most fun Grandpa anyone could ever had. Mom said you were not near as laid back when she was younger but that each one of the grandkids seems to soften your heart more and more to the point you are now a big softy. I sure do love you Grandpa!

Two Months

Dear Lucy,

Congratulations on a great month! You met many of your aunts, uncles, and cousins this month. You also met your big sisters, Hailey and Melia. You also celebrated your first Christmas (FYI, Mom bought all your presents at Allen's grocery store...).

I've enjoyed watching you become more interactive this month. You're eyes get so big when you watch things. You like to smile when your belly is full of milk and when you first wake up. You're quite the cutie, with your big eyes, toothless smile, and wild hair. I love it!

Here are ten things that I've observed with you this month:

10) You will track something with your eyes, side to side.
9) I used to be able to see your entire body by just looking in one spot. Now I have to look in two spots.
8) When you're done with something, YOU'RE DONE!
7) You're growing into your diapers.
6) You coo in your sleep.
5) I can tell the difference now between "irritated" and "mad."
4) You make a special "milk cry" when you get close to Mom.
3) You love your nightly baths.
2) Swinging is the next best thing to milk, if not better sometimes.
1) You're growing SO quickly, I need to cherish every moment I can.

Love,
Dad

What I've Learned As A Mommy of 2 Months . . .

1. You can comb baby hair all you want-it still is going to do its own thing!
2. I am very blessed to have a husband that is willing to bathe a newborn.
3. I sway whether I am the one holding my baby or not.
4. Socks work great to keep baby's little hands warm.
5. I really do have the cutest baby.
6. I could hold my sleeping baby for hours.
7. The smallest little "coo" can make my entire day.
8. A swing and a sling are excellent investments.
9. Heavenly Father really did love us if He could send His only begotten to die for us.
10. Life becomes much more fulfilling the moment your baby smiles.

Polar Bear Plunge

There is a New Year's tradition my Mommy started doing way back when she was single with her good friend, Julie. It is called The Polar Bear Plunge. People gather from all over at high noon on New Year's Day at a pond in Springville to: jump in, freeze, swim around, freeze some more, scream, freeze even more and then get out.

Mommy said something about not wanting to make milkshakes this year so she didn't do it, BUT Hailey and Dad did!!!

So maybe next year they will go all the way in , but they did get their feet VERY cold!

Happy New Year!

My Daddy kissed my Mommy to ring in the New Year. Happy 2008!

Hailey and Alison are cool teenagers so they went to the dance and danced with boys!

Melia, Kennedy and Sienna partied at Grandma's house with Aunt Jayna & Uncle Ryan and my Mom and Dad.

My Mom said there was absolutely no drinking involved, but I'll let you come to your own conclusion based upon these pictures of my parents and Aunt Jayna & Uncle Ryan!

All while I slept peacefully in a drawer!

A Favorite Past Time

My big sister, Melia is so good to me. She loves to visit with me and watch me. I sure do think she's great!
