Sometimes Barney shouldn't be so perfect

We apparently watch way too much Barney at our house, but I really wish once in a while that The Big Purple guy could be wrong or at least not so perfect. He always laughs at the perfect time. If there is a problem that needs to be solved-no one else can solve it but him. If people are disagreeing, Barney is the one who helps them resolve their problems. He even is the only one who appears to have the answers to any intellectual questions on the show as well.

I just wish that sometimes he could make a mistake or let someone else have a chance to say the right thing. I'm not saying that Barney won't still be shown in our home. But I do wish kid's shows could do a better job at reflecting what life is really like. That no one is perfect, we all mistakes and in the end each one of us has something valuable to contribute.

Perfect!? Puh-lease!

Look in any geological/paleontological book and you will see that there is no such thing as a PURPLE dinosaur. Plus, look at his short t-rex arms...do you know how useless those things would be? He'd be dependent on everyone else to do things for him. Plus, he's a fully grown, male dinosaur hanging around young children...think if he wasn't a dinosaur, he's just be a creep with a big utility van, if you catch my drift. Why does he have so few dinosaur friends? Maybe he was a know-it-all and no one wanted to be around him except toddler dinosaurs. I think he has a perpetual cold, because he's got a very nasal, annoying voice--no solos in dino choir for him! And have you seen this guy in a swimsuit?! Those thunder thighs are inexusable...

Just saying....no one is perfect.

Barney is one childhood thing that has never ever been shown in our house. I feel pretty good about that decision, too.
