Homemade gifts 2009

This year Marc worked with a lady in our ward to make matching bow ties for him and David. It was a very sweet gift. With the gift came Marc's promise to me to be an example and raise a righteous son.
I worked with a friend and made Marc some sample letterhead and business cards for when he starts his own practice. With his gift came my commitment to stand behind him through the whole adventure.

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve at Grandma Kay's for the traditional stocking night. It was the 1st Christmas for all three of these little ones . . .
David decided Brigham needed a little tickle in honor of the special event . . .

The family
The traditional Christmas program. This year Marc read a childrens' book and Lucy helped play the piano with Eliza.
Then of course the stockings! David loved eating the fuzzy Santa on his stocking.
Then all the children put on their jammies made by Grandma Kay and hurried home to get ready for the big guy to make his debut . . .

Hang up the baby's stocking . . .

Song sung to me by Mother and Grandmother (now I sing it to my children):

Hang up the baby's stocking
Be sure you don't forget
For little David Andrew
Has never seen Christmas yet

We told him all about it
He opened his big blue eyes
We're sure he understood it
Cause he looked so cunning and wise

DISNEYLAND!!!

Lucy & David's first trip to Disneyland!!!
Notice his button . . .
The whole crew on The Jungle Cruise
Marc and me SOAKED at 9am from Splash Mountain (just after my sister informed me, "they don't turn the water on as high in the morning" ).
The outdoor attractions were more Lucy's style. She didn't like going on the inside rides that get dark. Is Disney really for kids?
Lucy was entranced when she met Minnie. She walked up with this dreamy look in her eyes and gave her a great big hug. It was so sweet.
My men in front of Small World. David would just kick and shake his arms on all the rides. He was a great sport.
We opted for the traditional black Mickey ears for our kids. We no sooner got Lucy's name put on her's that she found . . .
This pink beauty . . . we bought 2 hats.
Aunt Kristi and David on The Merry-go-round
This was by far Lucy's favorite ride. She rode it at least 5 times. Marc and I had to take turns so we wouldn't get sick.
Well over due for a nap . . .
One tired little lady after a day of fun . . .
Grandma Kay took a last minute trip with her girlfriends and met up with us at Disneyland. It was so fun to have her there.
As we waited for the fireworks, Marc and I went on 2 more rides. When we got back ALL the kids were sleeping!!! It was a miracle.
We had a great time of entering the world of yesterday, tomorrow and fantasy . . .

San Diego Days 3 & 4

The day started with my sister and I heading to the swap meet. You can get some pretty sweet deals there, but I'm not sure that everything hasn't been stolen??? Then we relaxed at home and played some in the rain . . .

Marc walked in the rain to this little taco stand-and it was so worth it! Delicious! That night my sister and I went to this fancy dinner where we had a lot of fun with a lot of drunk folks. They were a blast!
On Sunday we went to church. Doesn't my brother-in-law look handsome in his uniform!
After church we headed to Anaheim to check into our hotel so we could be ready for Disneyand the next day!!!

San Diego Day 2

My sister took David so we could go with Lucy to the zoo. She really enjoyed the attention. She kept saying, "I'm with my Mom. I'm with my Dad."
Her favorite exhibit was the gorillas. This little guy named Frank came right up to where she was. They had a great time with one another.
Lucy hanging with the locals . . .
Lucy liked to push the stroller. She kind of went all over the place, but luckily hardly any one was there so we just let her have fun with it.
Then it really started to rain!
So we took shelter in the gift shop.
Where we found our very own little Frank . . .
That night Marc and I went to The San Diego Temple which was all decorated for Christmas. It was a beautiful date night. I need my sister to live closer so we can swap babysitting more often.
