Update On Sleep . . .Or Lack There Of . . .

Lucy has not slept well since Saturday night (as in not more than an an hour or two at a time throughout the day or night). Today was the worst with only a 1 hour nap in the morning and 30 minutes in the afternoon. It's now almost midnight and she has finally drifted to sleep. I am praying with every ounce of faith I have that she will sleep better soon. Doctor thinks it's a growth spurt. Growing is rough!

i realize your situation is a little different b/c she needs to be up eating to put on some weight, but may i recommend a book i found really helpful with claire who was a rotten sleep for a long time...it's those "on becoming baby wise" books (there's an infants, pre-toddler--which is like 5 or 6 months and up if i remember right, and toddler...all the way up to teenagers.) i wish i'd read it before i'd had claire, but it was still helpful even when claire and i had already established plenty of bad habits in regards to her sleeping. maybe it'll still have some gems of advice even if your circumstances are a little different...

Aren't we lucky they're cute? Sleep whenever she does and let the other stuff get done later. Make sure you take care of you so you can take care of her. And Marc. :)

Ugh. My stomach is literally hurting for you because that seriously is the worst. Do you have someone that could come watch her for you just for a couple of hours so you could get a nap in and not be SO exhausted for the long nights? If you need someone Katie, seriously, all I do is play with my baby all day and it wouldn't be anything to add another to the mix. I am not kidding-- let me know!

oh yikes. I'm glad to see that she did a little better after you posted this. Sleep deprivation is one of the worst things about parenting infants. Hugs and good sleeping vibes coming your way.
