My Thoughts on The State of The Nation (take it or leave it) . . .

-My heart is so grateful that Prop 8 appears to have passed in California. "The way we define ourselves as a nation today is how we will run ourselves as a nation tomorrow". -Gary Herbert

-I wasn't pleased with either candidate running for President, but I am not pleased with Obama's liberal views and I would have rather seen McCain in office. If Obama delivers half of what he has promised, I will be impressed.

-The "Republican Dynasty" that is running Utah Valley really needs to respect the people they represent more (especially educators).

-I was overcome with joy to see so many young people out voting yesterday. That act alone makes me grateful for the influence of Obama.

-Does, "Yes We Can" mean more than just getting Obama elected?

i pretty much feel the same way. i didn't vote for obama, but i wasn't thrilled to vote for mccain either.

now that obama has won i am trying to be optimistic and hopeful that he will be able to work with the conservative side a little and not turn us into a nation where big government controls everything.

i am starting to think that it is probably a good thing that obama won. he will be the one that will have to deal with all of the current problems plaguing our nation, and i feel like people believe that he CAN do it more than people believed mccain could, and that belief alone may stimulate some good things. does that make sense? i feel like if mccain would have been elected all of the people who have been so negative about pres. bush from the beginning would carry that over and things would be more difficult.

as it stands now, i am ready for a change and hopeful that the republican party will be able to unite behind the new president of our nation (despite the fundamental differences which will always exist) better than the democrats did for president bush. and hopefully that will make a difference.
